Crazy Fashion: LCM AW14

What will a fashion show be without a few crazy-and-completely-out-there clothes? It might not be commercial and it might not be socially acceptable to be seen in public in these clothes, but in the case of a fashion week, it is almost a must for designers to put out these “avant-garde” pieces to give a great show for the audience. While some designers opt for one or two pieces that pushes the boundaries of fashion, others decided to give a whole collection of fashion madness. Either way it is all good fun and you’ll never know, these clothes might end up being socially acceptable in the future! Here’s a few of my favourite fashion bonkers that strut the strut on the LCM runways:

London Collections: Men – AW14

I know it has been ages since the LCM fashion week was held (only 14 days ago to be honest), but I’ve got to cover some of the amazing designs that were showcased from the 6th till the 8th of January, right here in London! Yes, I am here in London and no, I was nowhere near the venues of all the fashion shows (how frustrating?!). In the spirit of the ongoing fashion week season, with Paris Men’s Fashion Week just recently held and the Haute Couture Paris blazing away the fashion scene right now, here are some of my favourite pieces from the LCM AW14:

E. Tautz

These coats are to die for! And that sweater! Owh dear god. Such beautiful pieces, they are.

Pringle of Scotland

Luxury knits at its best!

Alexander McQueen

Definitely a darker collection from Sarah Burton. But who doesn’t like a bit of goth in their wardrobe, right? Especially suited for those emo days or when you just can’t stand the sight of bright colours (lol!). Mind you I love colours and I love looking elegant in black as well.

Burberry Prorsum

Christopher Bailey brought out amazing huge bags and a large range of divine scarves (not that I could possibly afford any of these!).

Hackett London

Exquisite suiting and tailoring coming from Hackett London as expected. Especially in love with the blue pieces in this collection. I’ve got my eye on the blue plaid pants! I just have to own them!

Xander Zhou

This Chinese designer showcased extra long scarves and voluminous trousers, which I don’t usually gravitate towards (the trousers!) but Xander’s choice of pairing the puffy trousers with extra long coats with a side parting just works in my opinion. I’m all about extra long scarves. More ways to play around with it to be honest. Finally the all blue piece is just magnificent!

Jonathan Saunders

Colours and patterns (my version of heaven) from Jonathan Saunders vibing off a retro feel throughout the whole collection. Especially adore the red coloured argyle patterns! Though some of the other combinations of colours and patterns in the collection is slightly questionable (in my humblest opinion). I guess it just comes down to the fact that I wouldn’t pair certain things together. Mixing patterns and colours is a bit like Marmite, isn’t it? Some love it, and some don’t. I applaud the bravery behind the use of these prints and colours though. Definitely not the easiest option to work with.

Casely-Hayford

Looks ranging from underground gothic to futuristic ambiguity to flower power, the collection is definitely an eye-catching one. The black-and-white panelled coat is something I can see myself wearing (especially the majorly black one!).
